(a) Hypotenuse is the longest side and it is opposite the right angle.
(b) Opposite side is the side that lies opposite to the acute angle, θ.
(c) Adjacent side is the side that lies next to the acute angle, θ.
2. tan θ = opposite angle = BC

SINE
1. sin θ = opposite angle = BC
hypotenuse AC
COSINE
1. cos θ = Adjacent side = AB

VALUE OF SINE, COSINE AND TANGENT
1. If one of the three trignometric ratios is given, you can determine the other two.
2. The unit of measurement of an angle are degrees and minutes.
1 degree = 60 minutes, 1° = 60'
1 minute = 1/60 degree, 1' = (1/60)°
3. 30°, 45° and 60° are three secial angles between 0° and 90°.
